Dear Church Family,
Christmas Blessings! What a wonderful time of year it is as once again we pause and remember the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I know the word “pause” might seem odd to use during this time of year when everything about the season seems to be so chaotic. Yet, I believe it is important for us to “pause on purpose” if we really want to have a meaningful Christmas. We know that Jesus Christ came to this earth with purpose, and the primary purpose was to “seek and to save the lost” as we read in Luke 9:1; “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.” When we think about the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, it is sometimes difficult to remember that His start in this world was beyond humble! He was not born in a royal palace, but a lowly stable. His clothing was not kingly robes, but simple pieces of cloth wrapped around His tiny body. His birth speaks of the humility of our Savior, and serves as an example to us. We are not “above” others in this world as we journey toward eternity. Live Humbly! Those of you who are parents know how quickly those little ones grow up! It seems with each passing week there is some kind of change as they move through the various stages of life. Very little is known about the life of Christ during His early years. Oh, but the stories abound once He began His earthly ministry! Souls saved, bodies healed, and lives transformed by the power of Christ, which gave both hope to the masses and produced envy in the religious crowd. His next stop would be the crass. Think about in! He became the substitute for our sin. Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ.” Live Sacrificially! One day we will know that all of humanity will stand before Christ in judgement, and every knew will bow down before Him. The message of Christmas does not stop at the cradle! The same Jesus who came so humbly to the cradle and dies sacrificially on the cross, is the same one who is both now and forevermore victorious with His crown! “Lord of Lords and King of Kings” The crown speaks of victory, so I encourage you today to trust in Christ! Remember Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Live Victoriously! As we think about closing out the old year and starting a new year, may we remember that it is “Christ in us, the Hope of Glory.” Merry Christmas and God Bless We Love You Church!
