I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you.” - Psalm 63:4-5
“You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing to you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever." - Psalm 30:11-12 “Praise the Lord. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him!” - Psalm 147:1
Worship can be defined as an expression of praise, adoration, and thanksgiving to God in response to who He is and what He has done for us. Worship is not limited to music, but music is definitely a part of worship. Music at Center Point is very important in our weekly services as we seek, not to focus on a particular style, but sincerely desire to bring God glory through song. When we genuinely worship God, He has promised His presence…which is absolutely necessary for lives to be changed and souls to be saved. Below is a list of opportunities for you and your family to get involved in the music ministry of Center Point Baptist Church.
Adult Choir: The Center Point Adult Choir sings during each Sunday morning worship service. Choir rehearsal is on Wednesday nights at 7:40pm. Anyone ages 7th grade and up who loves to sing is welcome to join. Each year, the choir presents Easter and Christmas musicals, as well as, joins with the choir at Trinity Baptist each summer for an exciting night of worship.
Music and Missions: The children's choir practices on Sunday evenings at 5:30 pm. Children from kindergarten through 6th grade can join. Each week the children learn songs to sing during Sunday morning services. Twice a year they put on a special program for Easter and Christmas. This class also has a missions emphasis where they learn about missionaries and prepare for community missions projects. The children also begin in August preparing for a Christmas musical that they present each December.
